Junior Badminton at ERBC

East Riding Junior Club plays at the Badminton Centre at the Hull and East Riding Sports Club (Chanterlands Avenue North, Hull, HU5 4ED).

We have the use of four excellent courts which have a sprung wooden floor used only for Badminton. We currently have about fifty members ranging from 8 to 18 years of age. The club is run by qualified B.E (‘Badminton England’ – the national governing body for badminton) coaches and helpers who are all experienced players. The coaches and helpers give their time for free so the cost to members is low so no child should find the costs a barrier to playing.

The Club, by being an accredited junior club with B.E (Badminton England), means it is recognised as providing safe, quality sporting opportunities for its young people.

Players are encouraged to improve their standard of play and may enter junior tournaments. Several of our current players are junior county representatives. The Club enters teams in the lower divisions of the adult leagues, which gives junior players valuable competitive experience and allows smooth integration with the adult members of the senior club. Many of our members continue to play at university and beyond and we are proud that many of our members have kept badminton as a life-long interest.
